An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the project team on a major data centre development in Finland. This is a site-based role.
• Support the project team in the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System
• Assist in the development and implementation of construction stage health & safety plans
• Carry out health & safety inspections, audits and site walks
• Prepare health & safety reports and assist in analysing key performance metrics
• Provide regular health & safety updates to project and senior management teams
• Support compliance with all relevant environmental, health & safety legislation and statutory requirements
• Assist in the implementation of project-specific environmental and health & safety plans
• Review method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action and permits to work
• Monitor compliance with project execution plans and site safety procedures
• Promote and support best practice safety standards across the project
• Assist with ongoing COSHH assessments and the control of hazardous substances
• Support the close-out and recording of safety interventions
• Participate in site audits and inspections, documenting findings and following up on corrective actions
• Assist with maintaining accurate records of statutory inspections and associated documentation
• Take a proactive, hands-on approach to site environmental, health & safety requirements
• Support subcontractor compliance with project and company EHS policies and procedures
• Assist with site inductions, training sessions and toolbox talks
• Ensure appropriate PPE is available and correctly used on site
• Assist with accident and incident investigations and ensure timely reporting
• NEBOSH qualification is highly desirable
• Previous experience on data centre construction projects is desirable
• Third-level qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an EHS advisory role on large construction projects
• Strong knowledge of current environmental, health & safety legislation
• Flexible approach to working patterns when required
• Ability to manage multiple EHS tasks effectively on site
• Strong communication and IT skills, with experience maintaining reports and documentation
• Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
• Negotiable basic salary (circa €60k - €75k)
